Seamless Co-op Mode Coming to Dark Souls

Dark Souls Gets Seamless Co-op Mod for Enhanced Multiplayer Experience

The classic action RPG Dark Souls by FromSoftware is set to receive a fan-made Seamless Co-op mod, promising a more accessible and fluid multiplayer experience. Following the success of similar mods for Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3, this new mod aims to adapt the seamless co-op functionality to the original Dark Souls. It will remove the limitations of the traditional co-op system, allowing players to play together uninterrupted.

What Does the Dark Souls Seamless Co-op Mod Offer?

The Seamless Co-op mod tackles common issues in multiplayer sessions. Players will no longer be disconnected upon death, during boss fights, or while teleporting. The mod also allows for unlimited exploration together and progress is synchronized for all players. Optional difficulty settings are also included to rebalance the experience.

Developer Yui announced on Patreon, “I have completed a significant milestone in the development of the Seamless Co-op mod for Dark Souls: Remastered.” While still in early development, Yui plans to share updates as progress is made.

The Seamless Co-op mod previously garnered significant attention for Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3. The Elden Ring version, downloaded nearly nine million times, was praised for its innovative approach to FromSoftware’s multiplayer systems. Now, this success is being brought to the first game in the series.

As development continues, Dark Souls fans eagerly anticipate returning to Lordran with this innovative co-op experience. While a release date for the full mod is yet to be announced, initial updates are expected soon. With the Seamless Co-op mod, Dark Souls aims to deliver a more modern and enjoyable gameplay experience while preserving its classic atmosphere. Players can look forward to a more free and engaging exploration and combat experience.
