Rise of the Ronin PC Players Face Save File Deletion Issues
Koei Tecmo’s highly anticipated game, Rise of the Ronin, has launched on PC with a significant problem: save file deletion. Players are reporting that their progress is being wiped out after game sessions, leading to frustration and negative reviews.
Koei Tecmo acknowledges the issue and is working on a fix. In the meantime, they recommend using Steam Cloud backups or manually backing up save files as temporary workarounds. They also suggest disabling file-sharing services like Dropbox.
Despite these suggestions, players are still experiencing data loss. One user reported losing 10 hours of gameplay, vowing to avoid Koei Tecmo games for a year or two after launch. This issue has impacted the game’s Steam review score, resulting in a “Mixed” rating. Many negative reviews express sentiments like, “The game is great, but I can’t play it!”
Rise of the Ronin isn’t the only recent PC release plagued by technical problems. Monster Hunter Wilds also experienced similar issues. These types of problems are creating increasing dissatisfaction among PC gamers.
Koei Tecmo states they are actively investigating the issues and will share updates as they become available. However, the lack of a clear timeline for a permanent fix continues to frustrate players.
