PlayStation Plus Price Hike: Sony Announces Subscription Price Increase

Sony has announced a price increase for its popular PlayStation Plus subscription service. In an email sent to subscribers, Sony revealed that select 12-month plans will see a price increase starting June 24, 2024. While the new prices for the 12-month Deluxe and Extra plans are currently the only ones confirmed, the percentage increase provides a potential glimpse into changes for other tiers.

Over 55% Price Increase for PlayStation Plus Plans

According to the notification, the 12-month Deluxe plan will jump from 2,740 TL to 4,266 TL, representing a 55.69% increase. Similarly, the 12-month Extra plan will increase from 2,340 TL to 3,645 TL, a 55.76% increase. Both price changes will take effect on June 24th.

While Sony has only officially announced the price increase for these two annual plans, the revealed percentages offer a reference point for potential adjustments to other packages. Based on these figures, the 12-month Essential plan could increase from 1,400 TL to approximately 2,180 TL, and the 1-month Essential plan could rise from 175 TL to around 273 TL.

Users can renew or purchase subscriptions at the current prices before the new prices take effect on June 24th. Subscribers considering extending their membership may benefit from acting quickly.

This new price increase, following Sony’s previous adjustments in recent years, will directly impact PlayStation Plus users. Given rising costs and currency fluctuations, further price updates to subscription services may be on the horizon.
