Get ready to relive the chaotic fun! The classic first-person shooter, Painkiller, originally released in April 2004, is making a comeback with a remake. Announced at the Future Games Show, this revamped version promises a fresh take on the demon-slaying action you remember.
Painkiller Remake: What to Expect
Developed by Anshar Studio (with support on Baldur’s Gate 3, Silent Hill 2, and Outriders), and published by Saber Interactive, the Painkiller remake is built on Unreal Engine 5 and is slated for release in Fall. It will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Painkiller Storyline
According to the game’s description: “You have been punished for your sins against Heaven and trapped in Purgatory. But the Creator’s voice offers you a chance to redeem your errors. As one of the champions, you must prevent the exiled angel Azazel from unleashing his demon armies upon the world. You will face enemy hordes, demons with unique powers, and Azazel’s three great children, the Nephilim.”
