Marathon Closed Alpha: Sign-Ups, Dates, and System Requirements
Bungie’s highly anticipated multiplayer shooter, Marathon, is finally entering its first major testing phase. The application process for the closed alpha test and the minimum system requirements have been announced. This test will be available to a limited group of players who meet specific criteria for a limited time.
Marathon’s Closed Alpha Opens to Players
The Marathon closed alpha test will run from April 23rd to May 4th and is currently only available to players in North America. To be considered for participation, you must join Bungie’s official Discord channel and have an active Bungie.net account. Participants must also be over 18 years of age and have access to a PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC during the test period.
Friend invites will not be enabled in the alpha test, but selected players will be able to play together. PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live subscriptions are not required for the alpha test, but will be necessary when the game officially launches.
The alpha is approximately 6GB in size and only offers English language support. Bungie has stated that the full version of the game will support multiple languages. Progress made during the alpha will be wiped when the test concludes and will not carry over to the full game.
Marathon Minimum System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for PC players who wish to participate in the closed alpha test have also been revealed. To run Marathon, you will need at least the following:
* Processor: Intel Core i5-6600 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600
* RAM: 8 GB

* VRAM: 4 GB
* DirectX: DirectX 12 (Feature Level 12_1)
* Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit (with the latest patch pack)
