DOOM: The Dark Ages – Release Date, File Size, and Review Embargo Details
Get ready for the next-gen DOOM adventure! Exciting news is here for players eagerly awaiting DOOM: The Dark Ages. The developers have revealed both the review embargo date and the game’s file size, so PS5 owners especially should start clearing space on their consoles now.
DOOM: The Dark Ages File Size and Pre-Load Dates
The PlayStation 5 version of DOOM: The Dark Ages will require approximately 84 GB of storage space. Similar storage requirements are expected for Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. Players who purchased the Premium Edition will also gain access to a digital art book, which takes up an additional 17.5 GB. Therefore, players who want to experience the full package should plan for roughly 100 GB of storage.
Pre-load dates have also been announced. Standard Edition players can begin pre-loading the game on May 13th, ensuring they’re ready for the official May 15th release. Premium Edition owners get early access, allowing them to start downloading on May 11th and begin playing on May 13th.
A key difference in this new DOOM title is the absence of a multiplayer mode. Instead, the focus is entirely on the single-player campaign, introducing new weapons and a dark atmosphere set in uncharted realms. The fight against demonic forces as the DOOM Slayer will be more epic and slower-paced.
For those waiting on reviews, the date is set! The first reviews will be released on Friday, May 9th at 5:00 PM. The review embargo lifting a week before release shows developer id Software’s confidence in the game. DOOM: The Dark Ages launches on May 15th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
