# Assassin’s Creed Shadows Dominates Steam

According to SteamDB, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which was released on March 20th, has achieved a new concurrent player record for the series. The game reached approximately 2 million players in its first two days and peaked at 64,825 concurrent players on Steam, setting a new milestone for the franchise.

# Assassin’s Creed Shadows Sets New Record

Previously, the series’ Steam record belonged to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, with 62,069 players. Released in 2018, Odyssey was a fan favorite and remained the most played Assassin’s Creed game on Steam for a long time. However, Ubisoft’s decision to initially skip Steam releases for newer titles limited the opportunity for other games to surpass Odyssey. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Mirage did not achieve the same concurrent player numbers, with Valhalla reaching 15,679 players and Mirage peaking at 7,870.

With Shadows launching on Steam from day one, the series now has a new record holder. This number is expected to grow as positive reviews and word-of-mouth may attract new players to the game.
