Armored Core Classics Now on PlayStation Plus Premium: What’s Missing?
FromSoftware’s legendary mecha series, Armored Core, has arrived on PlayStation Plus Premium! The original Armored Core, along with expansion packs Project Phantasma and Master of Arena, are now digitally available on PS4 and PS5. Despite their 30-year history, these games offer an impressive experience with their visuals and gameplay. However, these new versions are missing some key features.
Missing Features in Modern Armored Core Releases
Originally, the PlayStation versions of Armored Core allowed players to enhance their experience with the “Human PLUS” system. This feature boosted character abilities when the player went into debt, providing a significant advantage. Expansion packs also allowed players to transfer save files from previous games. Unfortunately, these features are currently unavailable in the modern PlayStation releases.
The lack of save file transfer means players cannot access specific parts, especially in Project Phantasma and Master of Arena. Developer Implicit Conversions acknowledges these omissions and has hinted that a future update could address these issues.
Nostalgic Mecha Action Reborn
Bringing Armored Core to modern consoles is a great opportunity for retro gaming fans. The retro graphics look brighter and sharper on high-resolution screens, delivering a nostalgic experience. The series’ customization mechanics and fast-paced mecha combat still offer engaging gameplay today.
This mecha classic from FromSoftware allows modern players to rediscover the best aspects of the past. Fans eagerly await the restoration of the missing features and hope to see more Armored Core games ported to modern platforms.
