AI Trailer Controversy: No One’s Claiming It

ARK: Aquatica DLC Trailer Sparks Controversy with AI-Generated Content

The newly revealed trailer for the ARK: Aquatica DLC, showcased at GDC last week, has ignited a significant debate within the gaming community. This expansion, designed to celebrate the 10th anniversary of ARK: Survival Evolved, is facing backlash due to its trailer’s alleged use of artificial intelligence.

The trailer’s artificial, lifeless visuals and flawed animations have deeply disappointed fans. Adding to the controversy, no individual or entity has publicly taken responsibility for the creation of the trailer.

Negative Reception to ARK’s AI Trailer

Despite garnering over 500,000 views on YouTube, the trailer has received only approximately 1,600 likes. Players quickly identified the AI-generated nature of the footage and voiced strong criticism across various social media platforms. One of the most popular comments on the trailer bluntly stated, “This is terrible, and you should be ashamed.”
