Oblivion Remake: Release Date Sooner Than You Think?
Rumors of an Oblivion remake, initially surfacing in 2023, gained traction after appearing in court documents. Now, it’s suggested that Bethesda’s 2006 classic, *The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion*, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, could be arriving much sooner than expected.
Oblivion Remake Announcement Imminent, Potential Quick Release
According to NateTheHate, a reliable source with a history of accurate leaks, the Oblivion remake is set to be unveiled in the coming weeks. The Unreal Engine 5 remake is reportedly being developed by Virtuos Games, a studio known for supporting AAA projects and remastering titles from franchises like Dark Souls, Tomb Raider, Call of Duty, and BioShock.
What to Expect in the Oblivion Remake
The remake is rumored to be a complete overhaul in Unreal Engine 5, featuring six “reworked” game systems. These include stamina, stealth, blocking, archery, enemy reactions to impacts, and a completely redesigned HUD. Notably, the blocking system is said to be inspired by souls-like games.
Virtuos also reportedly worked on the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, later confirmed by VGC. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, where the studio is a co-developer, is scheduled for release on August 28, 2025.
NateTheHate suggests that the Oblivion remake could be announced this month or by mid-next month, with a potential release date moved forward from its previously targeted June 2025 window.
